When you take a look at your next
electric bill, you will notice an extra digit
has been added to your account number.
This addition is to help simplify things for
members with multiple accounts.
The bill at right reflects the changed
account number, circled in red.
Pennyrile Electric has worked to make
the transition as easy as possible for you.
Here are a few questions and answers to
help you understand this change.
Where do I find my account number on
my bill?
Your account number can be found in
the upper right hand corner (see right) and
the bottom return portion of your bill.
When did my account number change?
Your account number changed at the end
of January.
How is my account number changing?
Your account number is divided into
two parts. If your account number was
12345601, by removing the last two digits,
or the 01, the remaining number (123456)
is your member number.
The two digits at the end of your account
number change with each electric account
that you have with us (01, 02, 03, etc.).
For example, the account number of your
house may end in “01,” and the account
number of your garage or barn may end in
“02.”
An extra digit is being added to your
account number. Your current account
number of 12345601 will now change to
123456001. Your member number will
remain unchanged.
Why is this change being done?
The reason for this change is a number
of members have more than 99 electric
accounts. With that many accounts, these
members are required to have more than
one member number. This change will
simplify maintaining these accounts for the
member and make a more efficient process
for Pennyrile Electric. Adding another digit
to the account number will allow a member
to have as many as 999 accounts on the
same member number.
I pay my bill by bank draft or credit
card draft. Do I need to make any
changes?
If you have authorized Pennyrile Electric
to draft your payments from your checking
account or credit card on your due date,
you do not need to take any action.
I pay my bill by check or money order
through the mail. Do I need to make
any changes?
No, you do not need to take any action.
I am on a pre-authorized payment plan
through my bank’s Web site. Will I need
to notify my bank of the new account
number?
Yes, if Pennyrile Electric is paid with an
electronic transmission from your bank’s
Web site, you will need to contact your
bank with the new account number or
change the payment information to include
your new account number on your bank’s
Web site.

month on Pennyrile Electric’s Web site.
Will I need to notify my bank of the
new account number?

additional questions?
